Help is at hand
We have reviewed a very helpful eBook called Home Theater Design. It is available in two formats: as a self contained eBook which you simply click on, or a PDF. Inside you will find a wealth of information divided in these four main categories:
- Home Theater Video
- Home Theater Audio
- Home Theater Room
- Costs & Shopping
There are fifteen chapters broken down into main subjects and sub points. Very easy to follow. It can be taken in "a piece at a time" or "swallowed whole", if required. Thus suiting people with either a technical or basic understanding of the subject.
Let us give you a synopsis of the book without giving too much away, enough, we think to whet your appetite:
The author Duncan, neither assumes that you know all the technical terms, nor does he bog you down with the sciences. There is something for everyone here. As you read through you will find some excellent tips and solutions. For instance there is a great tip for those with satellite dishes. Also words of warning about the different formats of DVD Recorders along with features to look out for.
He has included great external resources for both more information on certain product and sources to purchase them - all with clickable links. You will notice from these links that he is not "affiliated" to or with the products, or in other words he does not profit from you clicking or purchasing from the vendors listed.
What type of Video display should I buy? All the different types are listed here. One thing that comes over and especially with the video ad audio is: go to a specialist shop where you can "see" and "hear" the different products - then make up your mind. You don't have to buy it there and then - think about it!
When it comes to the Audio side of things you will be amazed and at the same time appreciative of the explanation of the different types of sound production out there. He lists things to particularly look out for. Have you heard of a Digital Audio Server? Some would say it is a "must have", this eBook Home Theater Design discusses them as well. With the speakers themselves "you get what you pay for" - you will find a chapter devoted to choosing the right ones for you. Look out for the section "How to Chose Speakers". Could this complement your HDTV Theater?
Then comes the "Home Theater Room" an excellent chapter to help you design the "ideal" Home Theater, giving attention to speaker placement, lighting and acoustics. Don't overlook the Home Theater Dedicated Room" with acoustic panels and so forth.
Our Verdict: If you are venturing down the road of wanting a home theater or even improving your existing system this is a "must have" book - well worth the investment of only $14. You get the feeling reading this eBook Home Theater Designs that Duncan is not in it for the money, the price of this eBook says that. Here is a man that has a passion for the subject, who is very knowledgeable and wants to share it with others.
